WATERBURY - Randall C. Nelson Jr., 50, beloved grandfather, father and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on July 23, 2020. He entered this world on January 17, 1970, in Waterbury, CT, born to Randall and Dolores (Orsino) Nelson.
Randall Nelson Jr., aka Randy, was a simple man. Randy filled his life with loved ones and simple pleasures. He was a hard worker and always put 100% into everything he did. Every chance he got he was fishing at the lake or the ocean. He would spend all day fishing even if the fish were not biting. Once fishing was over, he would go to the same tiny Chinese restaurant and order a large chicken and broccoli and an order of chicken wings. Once his daughter and son were born, he enjoyed sharing that weekend tradition with them. Randy also loved sports; his favorite football team was the San Francisco 49ers. When Randy got sick, he told his family he just wanted to see the 49ers play in the Super Bowl and that wish of his came true. Randy was also a fan of wrestling. He would watch Monday Night Raw with his daughter Bethany. They would sit on the couch with a bag of Doritos and yell and cheer all night long. This is a tradition that is being carried on by his daughter Bethany and her family. Randy also enjoyed family cook outs, he loved being around people he cared about and cooking them a meal. Randy had his flaws but truly cared about his family and friends. Even if he was struggling, he would give you the shirt off his back. Randy will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Bethany Charles Bailey (Billy), son Joshua Charles, sisters Clara Nelson, and Shelly Michel (Rich), and brother Danny Nelson, and granddaughter Coraline. He is predeceased by his parents, Randall and Dolores Nelson, and his sister, Tammy Nelson. He also leaves behind his long-term girlfriend, Anita.
